Volunteer on-site at the CYC with our wild and wonderful students! Tutor a student one on one during Thrive on Tuesday evenings. Here, you will help create a safe, friendly, welcoming space for students to journal and work on homework. As a Tutor, you are comfortable in one-on-one tutoring sessions where you will work on homework and study skills, and read and discuss books. You are passionate about working with students and eager to help them grow.

Tutors must be available Tuesday evenings from 6:15 - 7:30 for at least a school year. All tutors must be 18+ and pass a background check.

Volunteer: Hygiene Desk Assistant

The hygiene desk volunteer works with the Life Enrichment Center Floor Supervisor to assist patrons utilizing our showers, laundry facilities, mail delivery, and lockers. Volunteers in this position will have close interaction with the patrons.

A low-cost breakfast is served in Degage's dining room each morning. Volunteers assist by preparing the food, running the cash register, and serving the food. Breakfast volunteers commit to one day a week.

The 2017 Nana's Run is being held on Saturday, May 20th at Rosa Parks Circle in Downtown Grand Rapids. We rely on our wonderful volunteers to make this event a success! Volunteer: Monday Afternoon Food Pantry Shelf Stocker and Bag Packer

We are in need of someone who can help stock shelves and pack bags for quarterly food distribution in our Client Choice Food Pantry. 

The volunteer would work Monday afternoons between 2:00 and 4:30 p.m.

Our Food Pantry helps families that live within the Lowell School District. Residents can sign up anytime during regular Pantry hours by bringing a current ID and proof of each household member. Individuals are then able to shop in the pantry one time each month to help stretch the budget and supplement household needs. We are also a USDA site for monthly Senior Food Commodities and Quarterly Food Commodities. 

All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation. Contact us for more details and dates/times of upcoming orientations.

All Flat River Outreach Ministries volunteers receive a discount in our Treasures Thrift Shop after 10 hours of service.

Volunteer: Special Readiness Packet Mailing Group Support

CONNECTIONS, our largest program, has a special mailing for families and we need YOUR help to get the 2,400 packets out. This volunteer opportunity is great for groups, whether small or large. It's a fun and easy way to give back while hanging out with friends, family, or even co-workers. The more groups we have, the quicker we'll be able to process this request. Drivers need to be at the kitchen at 7:15 am Monday-Thursday until May 25th, 2017.   Drivers will have a Kitchen Sage Alumni or Current Student that will implement the loading/unloading of meals.  We are looking for volunteers to engage our students with their own real life experiences to emulate being a good neighbor.
